Last minute instructions for the "Fisherman's House"

You will take possession of the premises, a few things to know.

  • Water here is scarce because it is not conveyed by the drinking water network but by cistern that we will supply daily. Although filtered and treated by UV process, it is considered non-potable because it is not controlled by the health services. Do not abuse it and recycle it (e.g. give the washing water of your salads to the plants outside). Mineral water will be provided as well as some cold drinks for your comfort upon arrival.
  • The toilet: as said before, not being connected to the wastewater network "all to the sewer", the toilets are provided with a shredder. Use only toilet paper, do not throw tampons or sanitary napkins, absorbent paper or wipes. This would lead to an immediate plugging of the device and dismantling it and would result in the non-return of the deposit.
  • Outdoor areas are at your disposal: terrace, patio, parking. You do not have to access (unless you are invited) beyond the blue gate near the barbecue or the one near the gate, these are private spaces. The respect and tranquility of others is required. We have never been the victim of damage or theft but in case this could happen we ask you to keep your personal belongings safe because you alone are responsible.
  • Child and / or animals: You are held responsible for the actions and safety of your children and animals especially at the water's edge. Although welcome with us animals, for hygiene reasons, should not stay in the rooms, on the beds, sofas or other cushions even outside. We can provide you with the necessary on request.
  • The barbecue area at your disposal can only be used in quiet weather. The wind turns easily here and can be violent. Only charcoal should be used for your grilling and as a child, never leave it alone and unattended. Never leave with hot embers. The house burned down 25 years ago and was rebuilt identically, starting over would be impossible. Do not throw hot ash in the trash, a metal bucket is available under the BBQ. Although in a humid environment, nature around you is dry and fragile. Be careful.
  • For your safety and to avoid any damage in case of strong wind, thank you to close the gates after each passage. Close the shutters and shelter sun loungers and parasol.
  • On the water, for any reason whatsoever, we cannot be responsible for any recklessness, accident, loss or degradation.
  • You are here in a protected area of the Natural Park of Greater Narbonne. You are in nature and will therefore have to cohabit with it (wind, insects, birds etc.).
  • Bedding, please use sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers provided for this purpose.
  • Please leave the premises clean and take out your garbage before leaving the house (a container is on the road at the next gate). Do not leave perishable goods in the refrigerator, any other product can be left available to the next arrivals.
  • For stays of more than 3 days you will have to water the outdoor plants that are not irrigated automatically. In the event that you do not wish to participate in this interview, you will need free access to the outdoor areas 1/2 hour per day to the staff in charge of the maintenance or the owner or similar.
  • The use of the Plancha on slate can only be done in mild weather with little or no wind. You will have to MAKE SURE absolutely to close the gas cylinder after each use. in the event of negligence on your part, you will have to ensure the replacement of the gas cylinder and the costs that this will have caused.
  • During high winds and if the shade net is installed, please remove it or allow us access to disassemble it. The same applies to parasols.

Failure to comply with these few instructions may result in the retention of the security deposit.

Hoping that you would have a pleasant stay...
