Last minute instructions for the “Fisherman’s House”
You will take possession of the premises, a few points to know.
- Water here is scarce because it is not supplied by the drinking water network but by a cistern that we will supply daily. Although filtered and treated by UV process, it is considered non-potable because it is not controlled by the health services. Do not abuse it and recycle it (e.g.: give the water from washing your salads to the plants outside).
Mineral water will be provided as well as some cold drinks for your comfort upon your arrival.
- Toilets: As mentioned above, since they are not connected to the main sewer system, the toilets are equipped with a macerator. Only use toilet paper; do not throw tampons, sanitary napkins, paper towels, or wipes down the toilet. This would cause the system to immediately clog and be dismantled, resulting in the deposit not being returned.
- The outdoor spaces are at your disposal: terrace, patio, parking. You do not have to access (unless invited) beyond the blue gate near the barbecue or the one near the gate, these are private spaces. Respect and the peace of others are essential. We have never been victims of damage or theft, but in the event that this could happen, we ask you to keep your personal belongings safe as you alone are responsible for them.
- Children and/or pets: You are responsible for the actions and safety of your children and pets, especially near the water. Although pets are welcome, for hygiene reasons, they should not be kept in the bedrooms, on beds, sofas, or other cushions, even outdoors. We can provide you with the necessary supplies upon request.
- The barbecue area at your disposal is only usable in calm weather. The wind shifts easily here and can be violent. Only charcoal should be used for your grills and like a child, never leave it alone or unattended. Never leave hot embers. The house burned down 25 years ago and was rebuilt identically; starting over would be impossible. Do not throw hot ashes in the trash; a metal bucket is available under the BBQ. Although in a humid environment, the nature around you is dry and fragile. Be careful.
- For your safety and to avoid damage in the event of strong winds, please close the gates after each use. Close the shutters and put away deck chairs and parasols.
- On the water, for whatever reason, we cannot be held responsible for any carelessness, accident, loss or damage.
- You are here in a protected area of the Grand Narbonne Natural Park. You are in nature and will therefore have to coexist with it (wind, insects, birds, etc.).
- Bedding, please use sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers provided for this purpose.
- Please leave the premises clean and take out your trash before leaving the house (a container is located on the road at the next gate). Do not leave perishable goods in the refrigerator; any other products can be left for future arrivals.
- For stays of more than 3 days, you will be responsible for watering outdoor plants that are not automatically irrigated. If you do not wish to participate in this maintenance, you will be required to provide free access to the outdoor areas for 1/2 hour per day to the maintenance staff or the owner or similar.
- The Plancha on slate can only be used in mild weather with little or no wind. You must absolutely ensure that you close the gas bottle after each use. In the event of negligence on your part, you will be responsible for replacing the gas bottle and for the associated costs.
- In case of strong winds, if the shade net is installed, please remove it or allow us access to dismantle it. The same applies to parasols.
Failure to comply with these few instructions may result in the retention of the security deposit.
Hoping you have a pleasant stay...
